Brilliant Garlic Cheese Bread Recipe
I was out to dinner recently at a local Italian family eatery. There had been something so special about their garlic toast, that I had to ask the staff if the cook would let me know how they made it. The waiter giggled, and responded that there is no way her 'Pa' would be content to share his secret garlic cheese bread recipe. That sparked my hunt for a real garlic cheese bread recipe. I attempted many variations but they were all missing something. Then, it struck me. It isn't so much about the ingredients as it is about the preparation. The ingredients here are simple and you're free to change them as you see fit, but pay close attention to the preparation instructions, as it is what makes a very special garlic cheese bread recipe .
Ingredients(Make substitutions if you would like.)
1 medium size loaf of Bread
Two (2) tbsp butter
Two tsp garlic powder
One tsp parsley
One tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
Quarter (1/4) cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup Havarti cheese
Quarter cup blue cheese
Preparation Directions
Preheat your oven to as hot as it will go (Maximum of 550F. If it doesn't go that high, that is okay, just max it out.)
Cut your bread into four (4) equal pieces and then lay them flat.
Spread the butter across each piece of bread equally. You can choose to use more butter, or less butter depending on your preferences.
Microwave the buttered bread for 15 seconds. No longer than this! This will melt the butter and keep the bread soft on the inside, although it gets toasty and crispy on the outside.
Now evenly distribute the cheese across every bit of bread, top the cheese with garlic powder and your seasoning herbs.
Place the bread in the preheated cooker for around 10 minutes. Depending on the heat of your oven, it might take a little more time or even a bit less.
Once the cheese is clearly bubbling in and around the edges, then it's time to remove the bread from the stove, and serve it hot.
There you have it, an easy but restaurant-style garlic cheese bread recipe that you can prepare at home that is basically a great treat for everyone while watching your favorite pictures. Then the next time I visited the Italian diner, I asked the server if I had figured it out, she just giggled and said "Shhhh!!! ".
